Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate

Hi, I'm Nia. I am a provisionally licensed therapist and a Ph.D. candidate at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Life can often feel overwhelming—whether you're managing daily responsibilities, navigating life transitions, struggling with people-pleasing, setting boundaries, or maintaining self-care. Many individuals experience anxiety, depression, intrusive thoughts, or spiritual questioning along the way. If any of this resonates with you, I want you to know you’re not alone—and I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey.

My approach is grounded in Person-Centered Therapy, rooted in the belief that you possess the inner strength and capacity for growth. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. I often describe therapy as a road trip: you're in the driver’s seat, and I’m here in the passenger seat—offering guidance, support, and encouragement as we explore the path ahead.

To meet your unique needs, I incorporate evidence-based techniques from multiple therapeutic approaches, including:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): to help challenge and reframe unhelpful thought patterns.

Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT): to collaboratively identify practical, goal-oriented solutions.

Faith-Based Counseling: for those who want to integrate spirituality, values, and beliefs into their healing process.

I enjoy working with individuals, couples, groups, collegiate students, athletes, and adults. Each client’s journey is unique, and I am committed to tailoring our work together to support your growth and well-being. I look forward to connecting with you and supporting you in creating a more balanced and fulfilling life.
