Hi! My name is Ambar, and I can't wait to be your teammate throughout your healing journey.

My belief is that my clients and I are a team and we therefore operate as one vessel- in unity and harmony while collectively working toward a common purpose. Leading with intention, empathy and authenticity, my goal as your therapist is to create a space where you feel empowered enough to manage life's challenges.

I enjoy working with clients who are interested in their therapy sessions feeling like a casual conversation. Because of this, I aim to create a warm and inviting space for all my clients to show up exactly as they are. Although our walks of life may differ, our humanity is the puzzle piece that interconnects us!

Some of the foundational treatment modalities my clients can expect during our sessions include guidance through CBT, with a focus on utilizing holistic, strength-based, and solution-focused approaches. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults with ADHD, depression, multicultural stressors, anxiety and those navigating stressful life transitions.

In the past, I have worked with children and adults across various settings and with different-abilities including autism. I have also served populations that have been diagnosed with comorbid disorders such as ADHD, OCD, anxiety, depression, learning and behavior challenges. This has provided me with an abundance of both knowledge in complex mental health and a passion for meeting my clients exactly where they are.

I obtained my B.S in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and my Master of Social Work with a clinical and community focus from East Carolina University. I'm also currently credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate.
